Escape from this dreary weather here surely brightens the mood. Met some interesting people, visited an old friend. I got a little nostalgic the first day there. After all, that’s where I got married some 18 years ago, on a beach in Lahaina. Got over it very quickly, though.
Also, while Easter is not a major holiday for most people, it has a special meaning for me, so it was a new experience to spend it in a resort, even a nice one. I took some work with me but by the evening of the first day I decided the hell with it, closed my positions and didn’t even open the laptop until the day before I left. Yes, I’m very proud of myself for that!
Here is what happened to my NZD-USD position. I hacked it without mercy and took 29 pips loss.

Traveling is not what it used to be. Airports are a hassle. I used to really like air travel but not any more. I think we’ve gone way overboard with all that security crap.
Funny thing about vacation is that I feel like I need another some time off just to rest after vacation, get back to normal routine. For example, I finally made it home on Wednesday night. Normally I work at night, but since I operated on “normal” people’s schedule, I went to bed. When I got up on Thursday, the “action” is just about over for a day. Lot’s of emails to answer, phone calls to make. My assistant yelling at me, all kinds of other tedious nonsense piled up. Shock to the system. Two meetings and a lunch on Friday. I’m trying to go over charts just to get a feel for what’s happening but the evil forces of every day life just don’t let me concentrate! As a result I have zero game plan as of right now. Next week will take care of that. At a perfunctory glance however, AUD-JPY and NZD-JPY have had a very steep run up lately. Moves with these kind of velocity in price and time don’t last forever.
Dinner to go to and a party to attend today. The party is kind of meaningless for me I’m going to help me switch back to my nocturnal ways. On a bright side of things, another vacation in 3 months or so. I’ll go to Europe for at least 2 weeks.
